The Iroquois West Raiders will venture away from home to square off against the Georgetown-Ridge Farm Buffaloes at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Iroquois West will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each game than the last.
While Iroquois West's victory against St. Anne wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Raiders sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 12-11 win over the Cardinals on Thursday. The Raiders haven't had any issues with the Cardinals recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.
Kyla Dewitt made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over six innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits. Dewitt was also big at the plate, going 2-for-5 with three runs and two RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April.
In other batting news, Amelia Scharp was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March. Neveah Medina was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, two doubles, and one run.
Meanwhile, Georgetown-Ridge Farm was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They took an 8-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of Salt Fork.
Peyton McComas made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.
Georgetown-Ridge Farm's defeat dropped their record down to 3-15. As for Iroquois West, their record is now 7-13.
Everything went Iroquois West's way against Georgetown-Ridge Farm in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, as Iroquois West made off with a 15-2 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Raiders since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
