The Sierra Timberwolves had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past East Union 34-31. This was one game where the offenses had no trouble playing at a high level.
Among those leading the charge was Zak Willson, who threw for 193 yards and three touchdowns, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. Sierra also got a significant boost from Anthony Grady, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 108 yards.
Several Lancers players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jackson Fay, who picked up 131 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Fay was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 57 yards. Blake Mount also helped out as he racked up 118 receiving yards.
Sierra's win bumped their record up to 4-5. As for East Union, their loss was their fifth straight at home, which dropped their overall record down to 3-6.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sierra will take on Central Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Central Catholic is coming into the match hot, having won their last five games. As for East Union, they will be playing at home against Kimball at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
