West Bladen has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will take on The Red Springs Red Devils at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in North Carolina (West Bladen is ranked 339th, while Red Springs is ranked 317th).
Last Thursday, West Bladen came up short against Fairmont and fell 26-14.
Although West Bladen took the loss, they still got scores from Tyleak Ballard and Hezekiah Adams.
Meanwhile, Red Springs lost to Midway at home by a decisive 26-12 margin on Friday.
Despite the defeat, Red Springs had strong showings from Taquan (TJ) Ellerbe, who rushed for 66 yards and a touchdown, and Jakelsin Mack, who rushed for 102 yards and a touchdown on only 14 carries.
West Bladen's defeat was their fifth straight at home, which dropped their overall record down to 2-7. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 16.6 points per game. As for Red Springs, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-5 record this season.
West Bladen strolled past Red Springs in their previous matchup back in October of 2022 by a score of 39-20. The rematch might be a little tougher for West Bladen since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
