Softball Game Preview: Teaneck Highwaymen vs. Dwight Morrow Maroon Raiders

Teaneck has gone a perfect 6-0 against Dwight Morrow recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Highwaymen will be playing in front of their home fans against the Maroon Raiders at 4:15 p.m. Teaneck will be strutting in after a win while Dwight Morrow will be coming in after a defeat.

Teaneck is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Everything went their way against Tenafly on Friday as they made off with a 13-1 victory. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Highwaymen considering their one-run performance the contest before.

Olivia Rottner was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out seven over five innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in May of 2025.

In other batting news, Leanna Guerreeo was incredible, going 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Sasha Garcia, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

Teaneck kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 3.4 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 matchups they've averaged 9.4.

Meanwhile, Dwight Morrow fell victim to Dumont and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They lost 23-0 to the Huskies.

Teaneck's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-6. As for Dwight Morrow, their loss dropped their record down to 0-5.

Everything went Teaneck's way against Dwight Morrow in their previous meeting back in April of 2025, as Teaneck made off with a 19-0 victory. Do the Highwaymen have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Maroon Raiders turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
