The University Academy Charter Gryphons's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their 11th straight loss. They were beaten by Heritage Christian Academy 68-31. While losing is never fun, University Academy Charter can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 511th in Missouri, while Heritage Christian Academy is ranked 230th in Kansas).
Leading Heritage Christian Academy to victory were Timothy Dietz and Biruk Dietz. Dietz scored 13 points along with nine steals, while Dietz scored 17 points along with nine assists and two steals. Dietz hasn't dropped below two steals for seven straight games. Another player making a difference was Lucas Prado, who scored 12 points along with two steals.
University Academy Charter's loss was their 17th straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 1-12. As for Heritage Christian Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 5-3.
University Academy Charter will head out on the road to take on Kansas City Christian School at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Kansas City Christian School is coming into the matchup on a five-game losing streak. As for Heritage Christian Academy, they will play host again and welcome Cornerstone Family, where tip off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Cornerstone Family is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
