AAAA Region 6B recap Oct. 23, 2012
Montavious Taylor of Carver ran for the longest rushing play in AAAA Region 6B this season against South Atlanta last week. Taylor's team defeated the Hornets as he sprinted for 70 yards on the play and finished with 301 in all.
Carver extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating South Atlanta, 65-14. This was the team's seventh consecutive win.
Carver's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Jordan Holden threw for 168 and two touchdowns and Greg Smith had 95 yards receiving. Tevish Clark helped Carver's passing attack out by catching two balls for 50 yards.
Carver's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Panthers feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Holden has thrown for 1044 yards and seven touchdowns this season, while Joseph Mosley has 13 catches for 271 yards. Taylor leads the league in rushing with 918 yards.
Taylor of the the Panthers is only 82 yards short of surpassing 1,000 rushing yards for the season.
Carver led AAAA Region 6B in scoring this week after putting up 65 points on the Hornets. Taylor in the win.
