The West Broward Bobcats will face off against the Western Wildcats at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (West Broward 3.3, Western 2.6) so any runs scored will be well earned.
West Broward barely beat Cooper City the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Bobcats were the clear victors by a 17-6 margin over the Cowboys on Monday. The Bobcats might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine matchups by six runs or more this season.
Cheyanne Chaffin spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered five earned (and one unearned) runs on three hits and racked up 13 Ks.

At the plate, Cyara Geronimo was a standout: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high. Milian Valdez was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 3-for-3.
West Broward always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .595. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Cooper City only posted an OBP of .379.
The home team had come away the winner the last four times Western and Pembroke Pines Charter had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Wildcats walked away with a 9-4 victory over the Jaguars on Friday. The game was the first time the Wildcats have beaten the Jaguars on their field since March 15, 2018.
Ali Solo was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out seven batters over seven innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits. Solo was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and one triple.
In other batting news, Western got a massive performance out of Analie Diaz, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. That home run was Diaz's first of the season. Another player making a difference was Hanna Turner, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-4.
Western's win bumped their record up to 13-3-1. As for West Broward, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-6 record this season.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Thursday as neither team is afraid to steal. West Broward has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.7 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Western struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 2.9 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
West Broward came up short against Western in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, falling 5-1. Will the Bobcats have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more softball content.
