Baseball Recap: East Rowan Has No Trouble Against West Rowan

East Rowan got themselves on the board against West Rowan on Friday, but West Rowan never followed suit. They blew past the Falcons 11-0. The Mustangs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matches by seven runs or more this season.

Harrison Ailshie made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up a single earned run in seven consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.

In other batting news, Sam Blackwelder was a standout: he went 1-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Krys Hernandez was another key player, scoring a run while going 3-for-4.

East Rowan kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in seven consecutive games.

East Rowan's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.3 runs over those games. As for West Rowan, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 9-3.

East Rowan and West Rowan should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings. East Rowan will take on Robinson at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday up 212 places (40 vs. 252). Meanwhile, West Rowan (ranked 42nd) will meet Davie (ranked 243rd) at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
