In what's become a running theme this season, the Salpointe Catholic Lancers gave their fans yet another huge victory on Friday. They claimed a resounding 72-24 victory over Canyon del Oro at home. Winning may never get old, but Salpointe Catholic sure is getting used to it with their eighth in a row.
Taliyah Henderson continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 17 points along with six steals and five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Jayci Nelson, who scored eight points along with five assists and five rebounds.
Salpointe Catholic is on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 13 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 18-3 record this season. As for Canyon del Oro, they are on a eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-17.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Salpointe Catholic will take on Pueblo at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Pueblo has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Canyon del Oro, they will be playing at home against Sahuaro at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Sahuaro focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 20 last Thursday.
