The Meyersdale Red Raiders's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fifth straight loss. They were outmatched by Windber on the road and fell 70-32. Meyersdale was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 44-13.
Meyersdale lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Spencer Whitfield, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds. Whitfield continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Matthew Hainsworth, who scored six points along with five rebounds and two blocks.
Meyersdale bumped their record down to 1-14 with that defeat, which was their third straight on the road. As for Windber, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Meyersdale will take on Berlin Brothersvalley at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Windber won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Southern Fulton at 6:00 p.m. on January 17th.
