Baseball Recap: Hoboken Wins Going Away Against University Academy Charter

Hoboken got themselves on the board against University Academy Charter on Wednesday, but University Academy Charter never followed suit. They were the clear victors by a 15-0 margin over the Generals. The result was nothing new for the Redwings, who have now won eight games by eight runs or more so far this season.

Fernando Genao looked comfortable as he struck out eight batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.

At the plate, Max Casazza was a standout: he fired off two home runs, three runs, and four RBI while going 3-for-3. That's the most RBI he has posted since April 4th. The team also got some help courtesy of Adrian Tavera, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI.

Hoboken kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

The win made it two in a row for Hoboken and bumps their season record up to 11-5. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 1 runs in those games. As for University Academy Charter, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-10.

Looking ahead, Hoboken will look to defend their home field on Friday against Weehawken at 4:30 p.m. As for University Academy Charter, they will head out to challenge Dickinson at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
