Santa Clarita Christian moved up to 855 from 914 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in San Joaquin. The Cardinals climbed the ranks as a result of a 66-0 win over Southlands Christian.
Saddleback Valley Christian's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Brandon Camarillo-Towles threw for 93 and one touchdown and Charlie Morris had 52 yards receiving. On the ground Forrest Lohman chipped in 197 yards. Caleb Ward helped Saddleback Valley Christian's passing attack out by catching two balls for 36 yards.
Capistrano Valley Christian's Riley Babick and Ben Sukut have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Babick has thrown for 1038 yards this season, while Sukut, a 6-foot-1 receiver, has 31 catches for 466 yards. The Warriors' Lohman leads the league in rushing yards with 648.
Two of the top units in the league will face off this week when the Eagles take on Animo Leadership. Capistrano Valley Christian's offense has recorded 163 points this season, making them No. 1 in the league, while the Aztec Eagles have permitted only 275 on the year.
A big matchup in San Joaquin this week will be when Dan Dodd's team takes on Animo Leadership. As it stands, the Eagles are in first, while Max Stevenson's team is in sixth.
