Lake City has been on the road for two straight, but on Tuesday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Marlboro County Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Lake City will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps South Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 206th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 77th).
Last Friday, Lake City was beaten by the Falcons 84-54. Lake City was down 66-38 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.
Despite the defeat, Lake City got a solid performance out of Bryson Rose, who dropped a triple-double on 19 points, 11 rebounds, and ten steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Blayne Edwards, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 14 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Marlboro County scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They strolled past Camden with points to spare, taking the game 72-56. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Marlboro County's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Ivor Miles, who scored 14 points along with five rebounds. Nori Adams was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 15 points and ten rebounds.
Lake City has been struggling recently as they've lost 11 of their last 13 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-17 record this season. As for Marlboro County, their win bumped their record up to 12-8.
