She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off six hits. Kozak was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of her five plate appearances.
In other batting news, Olivia Kaul was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three runs, four RBI, and a double. Another player making a difference was Reyna Alberts, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4.
On Mt. Vernon/Plankinton's side, they saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Madalynn Lorang, who went 1-for-3 with a stolen base.
