St. Patrick is a perfect 10-0 against Long Beach since April of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. The Fighting Irish will take on the Bearcats at 6:30 p.m. St. Patrick is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10.7 runs per game this season.
On Tuesday, St. Patrick got the win against Gautier by a conclusive 11-1. The Fighting Irish haven't had any issues with the Gators recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.
Peyton Parks made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out seven over four innings pitched. Parks was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. That triple was her first of the season.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Mackenzye Stapp, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Bentleigh Osburn also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen bases of the season.
Meanwhile, Long Beach was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 14th straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 20-8 to St. Martin. On the bright side, the eight- run performance marked the Bearcats' highest-scoring game to date.
Austyn McNeece was cooking despite her team's loss, going 4-for-5 with two runs and one double. Mayleigh Watkins was another key player, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one run and one RBI.
Long Beach's defeat dropped their record down to 0-5. As for St. Patrick, they now have a winning record of 5-4.
Long Beach's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: St. Patrick hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .336. It's a different story for Long Beach, though, as they've only averaged .256. Will they be able to contain St. Patrick's hitters?
St. Patrick came out on top in a nail-biter against Long Beach when the teams last played back in March of 2025, sneaking past 5-3. Do the Fighting Irish have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Bearcats turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
