Windom's game on Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Blue Earth Buccaneers an 11-0 shutout. Considering the Eagles have won six games by more than nine runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Jackson Joyce made a splash no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out seven over five innings pitched. Those seven strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Quintin Tietz, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. Windom is undefeated when Tietz posts two or more stolen bases, but 4-5 otherwise. Hayden Tietz was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one double.

Windom's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-5. Admittedly, the team didn't face the toughest opposition across those games, namely Blue Earth, Redwood Valley, and Redwood Valley. As for the Buccaneers, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-8.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Windom will square off against rival Redwood Valley at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Blue Earth is set to challenge their familiar foe Jackson County Central at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
