Dominguez has enjoyed the comforts of home their last three games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will square off against The Warren Bears at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Friday, Dominguez narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Norwalk 32-30.
Meanwhile, Warren entered their tilt with La Mirada with four consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with five. Warren claimed a resounding 40-6 win over La Mirada at home. Given Warren's advantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 57th, while La Mirada is ranked 304th), the result on Friday wasn't entirely unexpected.
Madden Iamaleava continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, throwing for 321 yards and four touchdowns while completing 71.4% of his passes. Iamaleava is on a roll when it comes to passing touchdowns, as he's now passed for three or more in the last three games he's played. Lynnden Hodge and his 116 yards on the ground were also a key factor in Warren's win.
The team's defense also helped out by holding La Mirada to a paltry 184 yards. A big part of that defensive dominance came down to Warren's ability to keep the quarterback under pressure: the team laid him out three times before it was all said and done. Leading the way was JT Houston and his two sacks.
Dominguez's win bumped their record up to 6-3. As for Warren, their win was their fifth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 7-2.
Dominguez was taken down by Warren 51-0 in their previous matchup back in October of 2022. Can Dominguez avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
