The Athens Bible Trojans entered their tilt with the Elkmont Red Devils with six consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with seven. Athens Bible walked away with a 43-31 win over Elkmont on Saturday. For Athens Bible, this counts as revenge for the 38-33 defeat Elkmont walked away with the last time they faced one another back in November.
Mckenzie Doner and Nyla Parker certainly did their best on Saturday to try and avoid the loss. Doner scored 12 points along with six rebounds, while Parker scored seven points along with 14 rebounds and three steals. Doner scored a full 38.7% of Elkmont's points, the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Athens Bible pushed their record up to 8-3 with that victory, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Elkmont, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-9.
Athens Bible will be home for the holidays to greet Waterloo at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Elkmont's road trip will continue as they head out to face West Limestone at 6:00 p.m. on December 18th. West Limestone is coming into the game hot, having won their last six games.
