Central Catholic is 9-1 against Oakdale since May of 2022 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Raiders will look to defend their home field against the Mustangs at 4:00 p.m. Central Catholic is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.6 runs per game this season.
While Central Catholic's victory against East Union wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Raiders had just enough and edged out the Lancers 9-7. The game snapped a strange streak: the last four times these teams have met, it?s been the away team that?s taken home the W.
Ceriah Fitzhugh was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, three stolen bases, and three runs. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April of 2025. Another player making a difference was Brea Hart, who went 2-for-4 with four RBI, two doubles, and one run.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 14 runs the game before, Oakdale was a bit more limited in their contest on Friday. They came up short against Elk Grove, falling 10-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Mustangs have suffered since March 13th.
Oakdale saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Briley Everett, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI.
Central Catholic's win bumped their record up to 15-7. As for Oakdale, with the loss, they broke their five-game winning streak and moved their record to 9-7.
Tuesday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Central Catholic hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .345. However, it's not like Oakdale struggles in that department as they've averaged .339. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Central Catholic skirted past Oakdale 2-1 when the teams last played back in March. Will the Raiders repeat their success, or do the Mustangs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
