Baseball Game Preview: North Judson-San Pierre Bluejays vs. North White Vikings

The North Judson-San Pierre Bluejays are taking a road trip to take on the North White Vikings at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. North Judson-San Pierre is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.2 runs per game this season.

While North Judson-San Pierre's victory against Pioneer wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Bluejays had just enough and edged out the Panthers 11-9. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Bluejays have posted since April 14th.

Trey McGowen was excellent, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. He has become a key player for North Judson-San Pierre: the team is 6-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 4-8 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Brock Benson, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: North Judson-San Pierre kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Pioneer only managed ten hits.

Meanwhile, North White was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 5-3 heartbreaker at the hands of West Central.

North Judson-San Pierre has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight games. That's provided a massive bump to their 10-9 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.3 runs over those games. As for North White, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-7.

Everything went North Judson-San Pierre's way against North White in their previous matchup back in May of 2023, as North Judson-San Pierre made off with a 26-3 win. Will the Bluejays repeat their success, or do the Vikings have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
