Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Bayfield). They were the clear victors by a 13-3 margin over the Dolores Bears on Friday. The Wolverines not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since April 6, 2024.
Tristan Bennett looked comfortable as he tossed four innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks any time he's pitched this season.
At the plate, Bayfield got a big performance out of Cameron Queen, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Noah Anderson, who scored three runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
Bayfield always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .562. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Dolores only posted an OBP of .333.
