On Tuesday, Brookfield Central was beaten by Catholic Memorial 68-41. While losing is never fun, Brookfield Central can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin basketball rankings (they are ranked 242nd, while Catholic Memorial is ranked sixth).
Despite the defeat, Brookfield Central had strong showings from Josie Piurkowski, who scored 11 points along with eight rebounds and two steals, and Grace Piurkowski, who scored nine points along with five rebounds and two steals. Piurkowski has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times she's played.
Brookfield Central's defeat dropped their record down to 3-18. As for Catholic Memorial, the victory (which was their ninth in a row) raised their record to 20-1.
Brookfield Central didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 69-44 defeat vs. Germantown on the 9th. Catholic Memorial has also already played their next game, a 63-43 win against Wauwatosa West on the 7th.
