The Legend Titans stacked a 15th blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Friday. They blew past Douglas County 78-33 at home. The win was nothing new for Legend as they're now sitting on seven straight.
Legend was led to victory by Maley Wilhelm and Katie Lamb. Wilhelm scored 13 points along with eight rebounds and five steals, while Lamb scored 23 points along with five rebounds and four steals. Wilhelm is crushing the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Mason Borcherding was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
When it comes to explaining why Douglas County lost, one person who can't be blamed is Sofia Baldessari. Despite the final result, she scored 21 points along with five blocks. That was a full 63.6% of Douglas County's points, marking the seventh time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Legend pushed their record up to 18-1 with that victory, which was their fifth straight at home. As for Douglas County, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-10 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Legend will square off against the Sabercats at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Castle View is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak. Douglas County's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on February 9th.
