Wheat State (8 Man) recap September 17, 2013
Grant Harvey of Little River ran for the longest rushing play in Wheat State (8 Man) this season against Peabody-Burns last week. Harvey's team fell to the Warriors as he sprinted for 51 yards on the play and finished with 102 in all.
Goessel fell to Canton-Galva 66-0 last week, the largest margin of any game. Miguel Guerrero ran for 23 yards in the loss.
Braxton Kyle provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Peabody-Burns defeated Little River. He completed 4 passes for 44 yards and also ran for 174 yards. Kyle's key target this week was Fred Winsor, who caught 3 passes for 41 yards.
Xavier Jabary was a key player and the best on defense this week as David Pickens' team defeated Paul Dold's team. The 5-foot-10 senior racked up 2.0 sacks.
Winsor was the best wideout in the league this week as the Warriors topped the Redskins.
Mason Demars was the most successful running back in the league this week. In 30 carries, he ran for 184 yards as Solomon topped Little River. Teammate Mark Aylward added to the ground attack by rushing for 117 yards.
Cordell Moore put up the best numbers through the air as the Redskins lost to the Warriors. He had a total of 5 completions for 67 yards. Moore's favorite target this week was Harvey, who caught 3 passes for 33 yards.
The top two teams in Wheat State (8 Man) will face off this week when first place Wakefield takes on second place Solomon. Wakefield topped Centre last week, while the Gorillas bested White City.
Hope led the league in scoring this week after putting up 60 points on Frankfort.
