Floresville is 4-0 against the Warhorses since December of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Floresville Tigers will look to defend their home court against the Devine Warhorses at 6:30 p.m. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Friday, Floresville came out on top against the Eagles by a score of 54-45 (the very same score they lost by the week prior). Given Floresville's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 479th, while the Eagles are ranked 1017th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Floresville found their leader in underclassman Samuel Rodriguez, who scored 13 points along with eight assists and five steals. It was the first time this season that Rodriguez posted eight or more assists. Another player making a difference was Connor Parkinson, who scored 11 points along with two steals.
Meanwhile, Devine earned a 60-50 win over the Mavericks on Friday.
Floresville is on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 15 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 22-7 record this season. As for Devine, their victory bumped their record up to 12-15.
Floresville took their victory against the Warhorses in their previous meeting back in January by a conclusive 62-40. Will Floresville repeat their success, or do the Warhorses have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
