Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Steele walked away with it. They blew past the Brecksville-Broadview Heights Bees 3-0 on Wednesday. The win was nothing new for the Comets as they're now sitting on six straight.
Steele was led to victory by Callie Beckler and Abby Broaddus. Beckler had 33 assists, nine digs, and a solo block, while Broaddus had 18 kills, nine digs, and four aces. The team also got some help from Amalee Caldera, who had 15 digs and two aces.
Brecksville-Broadview Heights' loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Hailey Gutfranski, who had 22 assists, nine digs, and six kills, and Brooke Mihalek, who had 17 digs.
After both having extra time off, Steele and Olmsted Falls will shake off the rust and duke it out at 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Brecksville-Broadview Heights does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
