Section 1 C/D recap October 22, 2013
Dobbs Ferry moved up to 101 from 130 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in Section 1 C/D. The Eagles were able to move up by besting Tuckahoe 35-12.
Pawling was the team that made the biggest jump in the rankings, moving from eighth to fifth in the league. Earlier in the week, the Tigers triumphed over Yonkers Montessori Academy 26-24.
George Figueroa threw for 144 yards and 3 touchdowns.
Patrick Bisconti was a force in the backfield as Bronxville topped Haldane.
Bisconti was the best running back in the league this week. In 18 carries, he ran for 223 yards as the Broncos bested Palisade Prep. James McDermott also contributed to the rushing game with 81 yards on the ground.
Leading Section 1 C/D in both passing and receiving yards, Yonkers Montessori Academy's Figueroa and Robert Atkins have proven to be a lethal combination. 5-10 quarterback Figueroa has thrown for 733 yards this season, while Atkins has 22 catches for 389 yards. Bronxville's Bisconti leads the league in rushing yards with 841.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Jeff Napolitano's team takes on the Panthers. As it stands, the Broncos are in third, while Rye Neck is in first.
The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when Bronxville takes on Nick Ianello's team. The Broncos have allowed 80 points this season, while the Panthers have given up 46. Bronxville allowed 18 points last week as it defeated the Blue Devils.
There should be lots of points scored when the Broncos and Rye Neck face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, Bronxville comes in having scored 181 this season, while the Panthers have scored 310. The Broncos scored 41 points last week as they topped Haldane.
Adding to the longest winning streak in the league this week, Rye Neck beat the Phoenix 56-0. This was the team's seventh consecutive win.
