Montgomery is a perfect 7-0 against St. Vincent de Paul since March of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Vikings are taking a road trip to square off against the Mustangs at 4:30 p.m.
On Thursday, Montgomery came up short against Piner and fell 10-7.

Kalee Murray and Laela Shimon stepped up to the plate in a big way. Murray went 2-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one double, while Shimon scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4. Shimon is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask St. Vincent de Paul). They were the clear victors by a 24-4 margin over Santa Rosa on Wednesday. The Mustangs haven't had any issues with the Panthers recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.
Makayla Bignardi made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out eight batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off five hits. Those hits were her first of the season. She was also big at the plate, scoring three runs while going 5-for-6. Those five hits gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, St. Vincent de Paul got a massive performance out of Johana Stone, who scored three runs while getting on base in all six of her plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Maddy Rynning, who scored four runs while getting on base in four of her six plate appearances.
St. Vincent de Paul always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .780. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Montgomery's defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 5-10. As for St. Vincent de Paul, they now have a winning record of 4-3.
St. Vincent de Paul's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Montgomery hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .367. It's a different story for St. Vincent de Paul, though, as they've only averaged .257. Will they be able to contain Montgomery's hitters?
Everything went Montgomery's way against St. Vincent de Paul in their previous meeting back in March of 2023, as Montgomery made off with a 13-0 victory. Do the Vikings have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Mustangs turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
