The William Blount Governors will head out to face off against the Christian Academy of Knoxville Warriors at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
William Blount not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since March 6th (when they won 14-1). They blew past Bearden 10-0. The victory continues a trend for the Governors in their matchups with the Bulldogs: they've now won five in a row.

Not much got past Katee Owens, who gave up just a hit and racked up 13 Ks to keep Bearden off the board. Owens has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Chloe Merriman, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and two doubles. That's the most doubles she has posted since back in April of 2024. Kinsley Bolton also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.
William Blount was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .440. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, Christian Academy of Knoxville was able to grind out a solid win over West on Monday, taking the game 5-1.
Emily Bogoski made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over five innings pitched. Bogoski was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
In other batting news, Halle Bedwell was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. Another player making a difference was Sophie Carroll, who went 2-for-3 with two doubles and one run.
Christian Academy of Knoxville is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.2 runs on average over those games. As for William Blount, their record is now 16-9.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Wednesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. William Blount has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.8 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Christian Academy of Knoxville struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 7.4 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
William Blount couldn't quite finish off Christian Academy of Knoxville in their previous matchup back in March and fell 2-0. Can the Governors avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
