The Page Sand Devils had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 19.3 points), and they went ahead and made it five on Friday. They walked away with a 69-62 victory over Chinle. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Leading Page to victory were Maximus Reid and Tyree Stingley. Reid scored 17 points along with four steals, while Stingley scored 27 points along with six rebounds. Stingley is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last five games he's played. Another player making a difference was Bryce Williams, who scored six points along with six assists and two steals.
When it comes to explaining why Chinle lost, one person who can't be blamed is Jostaiah Harvey. Despite the final result, he scored 21 points along with seven rebounds. Harvey hasn't dropped below 15points for five straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Tristan Xicohtencatl, who scored ten points along with two steals.
Page is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season. As for Chinle, their loss ended an eight-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-4.
Page on the road again on Saturday and play against Alchesay at 6:30 p.m. on January 13th. As for Chinle, they the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Kingman at 6:00 p.m. on January 13th. Kingman will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Arizona Rankings (they are ranked 238th, while Chinle is ranked 114th).
