Softball Recap: Hockinson Wins Going Away Against Hudson's Bay

Hockinson's game on Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. They were the clear victors by a 23-3 margin over the Hudson's Bay Eagles. The result was nothing new for the Hawks, who have now won four games by ten runs or more so far this season.

Renee Waddle was incredible, going 1-for-3 with 11 stolen bases, four runs, and two RBI. Those 11 stolen bases gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Maggie Ritton, who went 1-for-2 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Hockinson always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .600. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Hockinson's win bumped their record up to 5-7. As for Hudson's Bay, their loss was their sixth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 1-9.

Looking ahead, Hockinson will head out to take on Columbia River at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Hawks' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Rapids have averaged an impressive 11 runs per game this season. As for Hudson's Bay, they will square off against R.A. Long at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Eagles are facing the Lumberjacks at the right time seeing as the Lumberjacks are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
