1A District 3 recap October 22, 2013
Cameron Everett of Block ran for the longest rushing play in 1A District 3 this season against Logansport last week. Everett scampered for 95 yards on the play and finished with 210 on the day as his team beat the Tigers.
Fans got a thrill when Chris Sykes and Bijon Washington connected against St. Mary. The connection went for 90 yards, the longest such play in the league this season.
Sykes made the biggest impact on defense this week as Montgomery bested the Tigers. He nabbed 1 interception.
Raymond Plummer was a force in the backfield as Block topped Logansport.
Washington was the best wideout in the league this week as the Tigers beat St. Mary. Washington racked up 4 receptions for 168 yards. Trey Turner helped Montgomery's passing attack out by catching 3 balls for 54 yards.
On the heels of Cole Hendrix and Logan Wilson, LaSalle has had great success on offense. Hendrix leads the league in passing with 1,234 yards, while Wilson has rushed for 737 yards this season. Montgomery's Washington leads the league in receiving yards with 510 on 18 catches.
