North Vermillion hasn't had much luck against West Vigo recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Falcons will welcome the Vikings at 5:30 p.m. North Vermillion will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each game than the last.
On Wednesday, North Vermillion needed a bit of extra time to put away Seeger. They won by a run and slipped past the Patriots 15-14. With that win, the Falcons brought their scoring average up to 6.1 runs per game.

Meanwhile, West Vigo strolled into their game on Wednesday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They were the clear victors by a 12-2 margin over Greencastle. The result was nothing new for the Vikings, who have now won seven contests by ten runs or more so far this season.
Jaleigh Lindley was a major factor no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out nine over four innings pitched. Lindley was also stellar in the batter's box, firing off two home runs and six RBI while going 3-for-3.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Janelle Sullivan, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. That home run was her first of the season. Briley Jones was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.

Thursday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. North Vermillion has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .440. However, it's not like West Vigo struggles in that department as they've averaged .524. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
North Vermillion suffered a grim 27-2 defeat to West Vigo in their previous matchup back in April of 2023. Can the Falcons avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
