Trenton is 0-10 against Carlson since March of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Trenton Trojans will be playing at home against the Carlson Marauders at 7:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Trenton has four straight victories, Carlson has four straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Last Friday, Trenton strolled past Grosse Ile with points to spare, taking the game 56-41. Given Trenton's advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 55th, while Grosse Ile is ranked 334th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, Carlson came up short against Lincoln Park on Thursday and fell 57-49. Carlson has not had much luck with Lincoln Park recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Brendan Stanley, who scored 18 points along with 7 rebounds. He scored a full 36.7% of Carlson's points, the second time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Brody Lavis, who scored 8 points along with 8 assists.
Trenton's win lifted them to 4-1 while Grosse Ile's defeat dropped them down to 1-3.
Trenton might still be hurting after the 71-48 loss they got from Carlson in their previous matchup back in February. Can Trenton avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
