Life Center Academy stacked a ninth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Friday. Everything went their way against The City School as Life Center Academy made off with a 54-34 win. Given Life Center Academy's advantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 153rd in New Jersey, while The City School is ranked 319th in Pennsylvania), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Life Center Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Elijah Brown led the charge by scoring 18 points along with four steals. Brown hasn't dropped below 15points for four straight games. Al-Tariq Reevey was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with seven blocks and five rebounds.
Meanwhile, even though Broome Street Academy scored an imposing 84 points last Thursday, Our Saviour Lutheran still came out on top. Our Saviour Lutheran rang in the new year with a 94-84 win over Broome Street Academy.
Life Center Academy is on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 15 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 18-7 record this season. As for Our Saviour Lutheran, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
Life Center Academy was taken down by Our Saviour Lutheran 92-59 in their previous matchup back in November of 2022. Can Life Center Academy avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
