It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Ramsay Rams had no problem doing just that on Thursday. They breezed by West Point at home to the tune of 50-0. Considering Ramsay has won seven contests by more than 27 points this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Ashton Ashford was the offensive standout of the match as he rushed for 129 yards and two touchdowns on only 11 carries. Ashford has been hot recently, having posted two or more rushing touchdowns the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Kameron Keenan, who threw for 141 yards and two touchdowns while completing 90% of his passes.
The win (which was Ramsay's fifth in a row) raised their record to 9-2. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 45.8 points per game. As for West Point, they now have a losing record at 5-6.
Ramsay will be playing in front of their home fans against Leeds at 7:00 p.m. on November 17th. Leeds is coming into the game hot, having won their last four games. West Point does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
