The St. Vincent de Paul Mustangs will challenge the Ukiah Wildcats at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. St. Vincent de Paul is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt wants to keep things rolling.
St. Vincent de Paul's defense heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They claimed a resounding 49-0 win over Analy. Considering the Mustangs have won five contests by more than 20 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead St. Vincent de Paul to victory, but perhaps none more so than Mason Caturegli, who rushed for 118 yards and one TD on only eight carries. Another pass catcher making a difference was Barrett Chaput, who picked up 84 receiving yards and a pair of scores.
On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to St. Vincent de Paul's defense and their three sacks. Leading the way was Hudson Kensic with two. Another thorn in Analy's side was CJ Perez, who picked up a sack, forced one fumble, and made six total tackles.
Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Ukiah duked it out with Santa Rosa on Friday. The Wildcats put the hurt on the Panthers with a sharp 50-24 victory. The win continues a trend for the Wildcats in their matchups with the Panthers: they've now won nine in a row.
St. Vincent de Paul better keep an eye on Beau David. He was instrumental in Ukiah's win, throwing for 178 yards and one touchdown. David's passing game has become a key predictor of the Wildcats' success: the team is 3-1 when his passer rating is 110 or higher, but only 1-2 otherwise.
Ukiah was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 219 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in November of 2024.
St. Vincent de Paul's victory bumped their record up to 7-0. As for Ukiah, they now have a winning record of 4-3.
We should be in store for an exciting game as the two teams have no problem gaining yardage. St. Vincent de Paul has been on an offensive roll this season, having averaged 407.3 total yards per game. However, it's not like Ukiah struggles in that department as they've been averaging 367.7 total yards. With a pair of commanding offenses duking it out, the defenses are going to have their work cut out for them.
St. Vincent de Paul was able to grind out a solid win over Ukiah when the teams last played back in October of 2024, winning 35-24. Do the Mustangs have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Wildcats turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
