After having lost a blowout in their  previous game against Arbor View, Green Valley was happy to have turned things around  on Friday. They came out on top against the Canyon Springs Pioneers by a score of  31-19. That looming  31-19 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Gators yet this  season.
 Michael Lewis continued  his habit of posting crazy stat lines, throwing for 164 yards and a pair of  touchdowns on only 15 passes, while also punching in one  TD on the ground.
 Green Valley didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of  Roman Adams and  Kalil Usher.
 Canyon Springs lost  despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was   Aaron Hickman, who threw for 334 yards and three  touchdowns while completing 73% of his passes.  Sur Demetri Rodgers was  Hickman's top target, picking up 80 receiving yards and a pair of  scores.
The  win  got Green Valley back to even at 4-4. As for Canyon Springs, their loss dropped their record down to 2-7.
 Looking ahead, Green Valley will welcome Legacy  at 6:00  p.m.  on Friday. The Gators are facing the Longhorns at the right time seeing as the Longhorns are stuck on  a  five-game losing streak. As for Canyon Springs, they will venture away from home to  face off against Desert Pines  at 6:00  p.m.  on Friday. The Pioneers will be up against the Jaguars' rather soft defense (which has allowed 28.5  points per  game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
