The Longwood Panthers will look to defend their home court on Thursday against the Catalyst-Maria Wolves at 6:30 p.m. Longwood will be strutting in after a win while Catalyst-Maria will be coming in after a loss.
Last Tuesday, Longwood narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Kennedy 53-51. The victory was just what Longwood needed coming off of a 67-36 defeat in their prior matchup.
Meanwhile, Catalyst-Maria's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. They were dealt a 73-28 loss at the hands of Richards. While losing is never fun, Catalyst-Maria can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 705th, while Richards is ranked 299th).
The win got Longwood back to even at 2-2. As for Catalyst-Maria, their loss dropped their record down to 1-7.
Longwood didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Catalyst-Maria in their previous matchup back in November of 2018, but they still walked away with a 64-59 win. Will Longwood repeat their success, or does Catalyst-Maria have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
