Warner extended the longest winning streak in Lake Region (9 Man) this week by beating Ipswich/Edmunds Central, 60-8. The victory was the sixth in a row for the team.
Warner took down the Tigers 60-8 last week, the largest margin of any game.
Faulkton's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Kurt Beidler threw for 107 and one touchdown and Oliver Aesoph had 34 yards receiving. On the ground Darin Wieseler chipped in 150 yards. Zach Price helped Faulkton's passing attack out by catching one ball for 33 yards.
William Edgar made the biggest impact on defense this week as the Trojans topped Northwestern Area. The 5-foot-10 senior pulled down one interception and recorded one fumble.
Ipswich/Edmunds Central's Lane Myer and Brayden Thares have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Myer has thrown for 799 yards this season, while Thares, a 5-foot-9 receiver, has 19 catches for 367 yards. Wieseler from Faulkton leads the league in rushing with 1039 yards.
The marquee game in the league this week will be the clash between Leola/Frederick and Tom Kulesa's team. The Titans enters the contest ranked 10th in the state, while the Monarchs ranks third.
The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when Leola/Frederick takes on Warner. Mike Waltman's team has allowed 68 points this season, while the Monarchs have given up 35. The Titans allowed 14 points last week as they bested Langford.
Shayne Geditz's team made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 518 from 577. The improvement came about via a 42-0 victory over the Wildcats last week.
