Basketball Recap: Thomas Edwards Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Hull

Avon won the last time they faced Hull and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Avon Panthers strolled past the Hull Pirates with points to spare, taking the game 74-58.

Avon got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Thomas Edwards out in front who dropped a double-double on 22 points and ten rebounds. Edwards' evening made it 11 games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Nyisah Miranda, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 13 assists.

Avon was working as a unit and finished the game with 27 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in January of 2024.

Avon has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 9-6 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.0 points per game. As for Hull, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-6.

Avon won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Holbrook at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Holbrook has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 196 points over their last three contests. As for Hull, they will also get right back to it: they'll square off against Blue Hills RVT at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. One thing working in Blue Hills RVT's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last 11 matchups.
