The Colbert Heights Wildcats's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their ninth straight loss. They took a 46-33 hit to the loss column at the hands of Colbert County. Colbert Heights has not had much luck with Colbert County recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Colbert County can attribute much of their success to Chloe Gargis, who scored 17 points. Those 17 points set a new season-high mark for her. Another player making a difference was Joyden Ricks, who scored ten points.
Colbert Heights bumped their record down to 3-9 with that loss, which was their fifth straight on the road. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 27.8 points per game. As for Colbert County, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-4.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Colbert Heights will take on Hackleburg at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Colbert County, they will head out on the road to face off against Danville at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
