Homestead is 8-2 against Fort Wayne Concordia Lutheran since May of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. Chelsie Rosine was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out eight over 4.2 innings pitched.
At the plate, Homestead saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Trinity Rager, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base. That stolen base was Rager's first of the season.
Meanwhile, Fort Wayne Concordia Lutheran got the win against Fort Wayne Wayne on Wednesday by a conclusive 10-2. With that win, the Cadets brought their scoring average up to 6.3 runs per game.
Alexis Spreen made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Spreen was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in May of 2024.
In other batting news, Raelyn Koesters was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and one triple. Another player making a difference was Reagan Vowles, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases and two runs.
Fort Wayne Concordia Lutheran hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least four batters in three consecutive contests.
Fort Wayne Concordia Lutheran picked up their first home victory, bumping their record up to 2-5. As for Homestead, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-2.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Thursday. Homestead hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 1.2 home runs per game. However, it's not like Fort Wayne Concordia Lutheran struggles in that department as they've been averaging 0.4 home runs.
