The Richland County Tigers lost against the Effingham Flaming Hearts back in February of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. Richland County was beaten by Effingham 53-22. Richland County has not had much luck with Effingham recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Richland County's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kyrstin Weiler, who scored eight points. Another player making a difference was Danielle Reagan Brown, who scored two points along with nine rebounds.
Richland County now has a losing record at 14-15. As for Effingham, the victory (which was their ninth in a row) raised their record to 25-4.
Richland County does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Effingham, they won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Mt. Zion at 6:00 p.m. on February 8th. Mt. Zion is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
