Softball Recap: Isabella Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Isabella put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They walked away with a 10-7 victory over the Billingsley Bears. That's more bragging rights for the Mustangs, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Emma Baker spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and six unearned) runs on two hits.

At the plate, Isabella got a massive performance out of Natalie Smithermen, who went 2-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI. Jeslyn Wilson was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.

Isabella kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in four consecutive matchups dating back to last season.

Isabella's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 3-0.

Looking ahead, Isabella will welcome Horseshoe Bend at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Isabella's favor is that they have posted at least ten runs every time they've taken the field this season. As for Billingsley, they will head out to take on Jemison at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
