The Eagleville Eagles fought the good fight in their overtime match against the Cascade Champions on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took a 58-52 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Champions. Eagleville was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Cascade apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in November of 2023.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Cascade to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kaegan Young, who scored 18 points along with six assists and six rebounds. Those six assists set a new season-high mark for her. Kaydence Miller was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with six rebounds and three steals.
This is the second loss in a row for Eagleville and nudges their season record down to 6-7. As for Cascade, their victory bumped their record up to 6-12.
Eagleville will be playing at home against Huntland at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Huntland is hoping to put an end to a five-game streak of away losses. As for Cascade, they will head out on the road to face off against Grundy County at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Grundy County focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 last Friday.
