Basketball Recap: Streetsboro Piles Up the Points Against Ravenna

Streetsboro had to skate by with only a three-point margin when they last took the court, which might have inspired the 36-point drubbing they dealt Ravenna on Friday. The Streetsboro Rockets breezed by the Ravenna Ravens to the tune of 64-28. The Rockets have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six matches by 22 points or more this season.

Streetsboro was led to victory by Charles Ivory and Jack Batten. Ivory went 7 of 12 en route to 20 points in addition to seven boards and four steals, while Batten went 8 for 14 on his way to 20 points. Batten's evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Miles Kobie, who posted nine points and six rebounds.

Streetsboro smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in three consecutive contests.

Streetsboro pushed their record up to 15-3 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.7 points per game. As for Ravenna, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost eight of their last ten games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-15 record this season.

Streetsboro will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Norton at 7:00 p.m. Streetsboro is facing Norton at the right time seeing as Norton is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
