This season hasn't been kind to the Chicopee Pacers, who are still winless after their sixth game. They suffered a rough 59-38 loss at the hands of Pittsfield on Thursday. While losing is never fun, Chicopee can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Massachusetts basketball rankings (they are ranked 96th, while Pittsfield is ranked 30th).
Pittsfield found their leader in underclassman Harolyn Castillo, who scored 19 points along with six rebounds and six steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Castillo has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Kyana Summers, who scored four points along with 13 rebounds and five assists.
Chicopee's defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Pittsfield, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 9-3.
Chicopee does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Pittsfield will look to defend their home court on Monday against Minnechaug Regional at 7:00 p.m. Minnechaug Regional will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
