The Second Baptist University-Model Eagles waltzed into their contest Thursday with three straight wins but they left with four. They secured a 43-37 W over Humble Christian.
Several Cougars players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Angelina Trevino, who scored 11 points along with seven steals. Those seven steals set a new season-high mark for her. The team also got some help courtesy of Camille Aguon, who scored ten points along with four steals.
Second Baptist University-Model's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 4-4. As for Humble Christian, they now have a losing record at 3-4.
Second Baptist University-Model will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Family Christian at 6:00 p.m. on January 11, 2024. Humble Christian will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Lighthouse HomeSchool on January 5, 2024.
