Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Southwest Guilford). Everything went their way against the Grimsley Whirlies on Tuesday as the Southwest Guilford Cowboys made off with a 24-1 win. The Cowboys haven't had any issues with the Whirlies recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive victory against them.
Stevee Kendrick made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over three innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one hit in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring a run while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.
In other batting news, Amelia Stewart was a standout: she went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Makayla Stefanik, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI.
